A nickel-silver plated alloy,
pebbled front, 2" x 3", open rectangular, double claw belt buckle,
around which is wrapped and sewn one end of a 2 3/8" x 52 3/4",
Havana brown leather belt. Stamped to the underside of the buckle
is an RZM, "Reichszeugmeisterei" (National-materiel-control-office),
logo, beneath which is "M5/76," the manufacturer's code for Friedrich
Linden of Lüdenscheid. A vertical, floating leather keeper is fed
unto the belt, with an impressed line to each of its outer edges,
and similar lines may be seen along the edges of the belt itself.
The belt's other end comes to a rounded point with seven pairs of
buckling holes. Three other pairs of buckling holes had been added
later, further up the belt, where an attempt to add two more pairs
may also be seen. Impressed to the reverse of the rounded point
is "120," along with a partial RZM logo and what appears to be "L2/2/39"
(the last two numbers being the date).
