A 2 1/4" wide, 40" long,
Havana brown leather belt, with its cast, gilt-washed aluminum belt
buckle. The 2 3/16" diameter buckle features, to its convex obverse,
a spread-winged eagle clutching a wreathed, mobile swastika in its
talons, all encircled by a wreath of oak leaves, which the eagle's
wings extend into. Embossed above the catch and crimped keeper is
an RZM, "Reichszeugmeisterei" (National-materiel-control-office),
logo, alongside of which is "M4/27," the manufacturer's code for
Overhoff & Co. of Lüdenscheid. The latter gilt-washed aluminum keeper,
again in the form of a vertical rectangle, has, like the other,
an oak leaf motif to its obverse, exposed bar. Stamped to its reverse
is an RZM logo followed by M4/30, for Berg & Nolte of Lüdenscheid.
Impressed to the reverse of the belt where it is folded around the
keeper is an RZM logo and "L2/748/40."
