This is a classic Carl Eickhorn
example and is very good looking and collectible. The nickel crossguards
are the "He" marked type and they are beauties. They have smooth
surfaces and crisp edges and the accent grooves have been deeply
hand cut. The reverse lower crossguard is Gau marked, "Ns." The
crossguards perfectly fit the fine grip. This grip is an outstanding
mahogany wood which seems to have a burl affect to the graining
as there are lighter areas and darker areas really giving it a good
look. This grip is of medium contour construction and it shows almost
no usage. It fits the crossguards like a glove. This perfect conditioned
grip has an outstanding SA button and the nickel eagle is the high
necked type which shows no wear to its head, breast feathering or
wreathed swastika. It is matching etched with the small double oval
circles. The crossguards exactly meet the blade shoulders. A very
fine ground Roehm piece which any collector would be proud to have
in his collection.
