This Hitler Youth knife is a beauty. The hilt fittings are nice and bright and are in full mint condition with the exception of just a little bit of plating missing in the area which rests beneath the cross strap. Other than this, the nickel plating is terrific. The grip plates are very crisp black checkered bake-o-lite. They have the quality of slightly countersunk rivets, something not often seen on HJ knives and reflects a little extra care. The rivets are nickel plated steel having dressed obverse heads. The plating is still all there. The scabbard is straight throughout having excellent black paint. The paint on the reverse is in mint condition with just a little spidering. The leather hanger and retainer loop are in choice pristine condition. The blade of this piece is nice and bright being in choice condition. The original brown leather blade buffer is in place.
