This Bugle measures about
10-inches in length. It is in outstanding dent free condition having
all brass construction with contrasting nickel sections. The bell
area is covered in nickel, as is the portion beneath the mouthpiece
and also a small sleeve segment in the center portion of the instrument.
It is complete with its mouthpiece. The nickel section below the
mouthpiece is equipped with a brass ring, as is the flared out area
of the bell. The obverse lower section of the bugle has a fine early
eagle with large wreathed swastika applied. This is also made in
nickel. The feathering is still visible and there is good detail
to the wreath and the swastika in the center. This is an early style
Hitler Youth eagle according to the Angolia Belt Buckle Book which
shows a similar example on page 287, upper. I believe this eagle
could be mistaken for early SA or SS, but I think it's Hitler Youth.
This bugle is all set up to snap your banner on and practice some
fanfare music!
